OWS is the OPERA 5 interface for guest self-service, delivered as part of OEDS. It exposes availability, reservation create/modify, profile lookup, check-in, check-out and folio inquiry as SOAP web services.

Available services depend on the hotel’s OEDS version and licences — always develop against the WSDLs published in the hotel environment.
Kiosk flow
- Find the reservation (ID scan or confirmation number).
- Confirm guests and departure; modify if needed.
- Assign a room and check in.
- Encode the key (via the lock system — FIAS or the lock vendor’s SDK).
- At departure: retrieve the folio, take payment, check out.
