Key records let the front desk encode keys directly from OPERA. OPERA sends a key request; the lock system encodes on the selected encoder and returns an answer.
A key request typically carries the room, the encoder (workstation), the number of keys, new versus duplicate, validity (usually departure date and time) and optional extra access such as common areas. Exact field IDs depend on the FIAS release and must be declared in LR.
- Verify the mapping between OPERA workstations and lock encoders one by one.
- Always return an answer, success or failure, or the front desk will wait.
- A new key invalidates earlier keys; a duplicate does not.
